Shanya Lynn Dawson
From a musical family, Shanya Lynn started entertaining at age 5 singing "Crystal Chandeliers" on stage with her parents country band, in Kitimat, B.C., with influences from Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Tanya Tucker, Patsy Cline, Elvis and her all time favourite--Dolly Parton.
During her teens, after moving to Hamilton, Ont., she put singing on hold for a 10 year acting career in TV and film. She co-starred in a film with Corey Feldman, starred in many TV commercials, had a recurring role in Katts and Dogs, and starred in many episodes of Top Cops, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Freedom Knight, and T &T, to name a few. A performer at heart, Shanya found herself on stage in different musical productions over the years as well.
Encouraged to sing again by family and friends, Shanya began singing at many private functions and parties and made guest appearances at different venues, singing with different family members bands. Able to touch the hearts of others with her voice, Shanya reunited with her roots, and joined the country band Midnight Country. Now, together with her band, she sings with her childhood passion of country music, with an energy that is contagious to young and old alike.
